What is Dyslexia and How Can I Support a Dyslexic Student in the Classroom?
This workshop explains in detail exactly how to identify students that may be dyslexic in your classroom. It provides in-depth information about characteristics of dyslexic students and what their performance in the classroom on daily work and tests will look like. We will also look at screening and testing that should be used when evaluating a student for dyslexia. It will also include ways to support the dyslexic student in the classroom with technology. There will be a variety of make and take activities. Come learn how you can make a difference in the life of the dyslexic students you have in your classroom by identifying them and getting them the help they need.
*If your district is not a member of EMCED, you will be charged $100.00 to attend this workshop.
Lunch will not be provided. You will be given approximately an hour to have lunch with your training colleagues on your own.
